DESCRIPTION :

Portrait of Charles-Philippe de France, Comte d'Artois and future King Charles X (1757-1836).

This fine enamel was painted around 1817, after the large portrait painted by François Louis Gounot at that time. One had to ask an artist of the court,specialised with enamel, the execution of this miniature, revers of  enamel alas unsigned.

The work announces the miniature portraits of the Count d'Artois, painted by Daniel Saint, later in 1824 (cf. musée du Louvre RF 190)
