Miniature by Louis-Gabriel Moreau, known as the eldest. Painter to the Count of Artois (King's brother), he is rightly considered one of the best landscape artists of his time. Wildenstein devoted a work to this artist whose original works are quite rare. Often imitated, the miniatures of Louis-Gabriel Moreau are characterized by a blue/green palette.
