DESCRIPTION :

Miniature by François Meuret, signed in red on right : Meuret (erased)

The portrait is identified on the back of the frame, engraved in the gilded bronze, the letters H and L and  "Marquise de Talhouët à 17 ans ".

It is the portrait of Léonie Marie Sidonie née Honnorez (1829-1892) (hence the monogram H L), on the day of her marriage on August 2, 1847, at the age of 17, with Auguste Elisabeth Joseph Marquis de Talhouët-Roy (1819-1884), future Mayor of Lude, General Councillor of Sarthe, Deputy, Senator, Minister of Public Works, Grand Officer of the Legion of Honour.

Became Marchioness by her marriage, Léonie passed away at the castle of Lude on July 18, 1892.
