DESCRIPTION :

Antonine ODERIEUX (1857-1908) is a miniaturist whose rare works deserve to be rediscovered.

A gifted portraitist, she was a pupil of Chaplin, whose she know how to capture sensuality.

Her portraits of women (I don’t know any of man), are imbued with a very disturbing charm "end of century".

She exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1877, the Rouen Museum (her hometown) keeps miniatures of her hand.

CONDITION: Very good original condition. Lost on silk on reverse of frame.
