SIGNED:

FRAME : Original ivory snuff box

PORTRAIT SIZE: 5,5cm

FRAME SIZE: 7,5x3cm

DESCRIPTION :

Rare miniature portrait of Queen Victoria aged, painted on the occasion of her Diamond Jubilee, in 1897, perhaps after the official photograph of W. and d. Downey (National portrait Gallery, London), but of the differences existing between the miniature and the photo, perhaps the miniature was painted after nature.

Miniature mounted on the lid of its original turned ivory snuffbox (carved screw for screwing the lid to the base)

CONDITION: Very good condition of origin. A slight trace in the bottom right in lower part of dress. The lid does not screw completely on the box
