Miniature of the Empire period, signed on the left : Barrois. The career of Jacques Antoine Barrois still to be studied. The date of his death being unknown to us, we know works by him until 1795. This miniature could have been painted a little later and extend the period of activity known of this artist. This miniature with a gold frame ( punched with wild boar or horse's head ?), can form a pair with a second portrait with a gold frame (this one not punched), sold separately. TECHNIQUE:
