DESCRIPTION :

Double-sided medallion comprising portraits of Mr Jacques-Emmanuel THERRESSE (1745-1789), Seigneur de la Fossée, adviser secretary to the King, and intimate adviser to the Prince Bishop of Spire. And the portrait of his wife, née Marie-Victoire Martin de Martinfort (1758-1790).

The two miniatures are identified inside, both are painted by François Dumont, probably for their marriage around 1780. Signature of Dumont on the portrait of Monsieur Therresse: D.t (bottom right)


CONDITION: Very good original condition. tiny scratches on original glasses
