DESCRIPTION :

Beautiful miniature, Louis XVI period, showing a young woman, richly dressed, eyes turned towards the sky, seeking inspiration.

This pause was characteristic of artists's portraits, actresses or singers, in the eighteenth century.

The miniature carries on the reverse an identification difficult to read. By casting the cliché we can guess "Mme Ponssin...", would it be a portrait of the muse of Greuze, Mme Porcins or Montaigne de Poncins (following the very changing spellings of the time)?

CONDITION: Good condition. Originals enlargments on upper and lowers part. A crack restaured by Dr. Bernd Pappe
