Miniature by André Claude Martin Lefèvre d'Orgeval, circa 1750, showing a young Lady dressed as a shepherdess , a dog (symbol of fidelity), placing its head on her knees. Lefèvre d'Orgeval was one of the great Parisian miniaturists during the reign of Louis XV, he was, among others, a painter in miniature and in large for the House of Condé. The Tansey Foundation conserves a series of Lady's portraits circa 1750, by Lefèvre d'Orgeval, quite similar to this miniature.TECHNIQUE:
