Historic miniature, showing the portrait of Mirabeau in 1789.

Honoré Gabriel Riqueti, count de Mirabeau, more collectively called Mirabeau (1749-1791) was a writer, a diplomat, and a journalist. It was a figure of the French Revolution.  Named " the speaker of the people " and " the torch of Provence ", he was the first symbol of the parliamentary eloquence in France.

Inspired by the portrait that made of him Boze in 1789, but with some variants, this miniature makes to the perfection the marked face by smallpox's scars, contracted by Mirabeau when child.
