Large Empire miniature by Jean-Baptiste Le Tellier (son), named inside : Sidonie Barbier a 8 ans (Sidonie Barbier in 8 years (another later added writing specifies, maybe in erroneous way: without offspring) . Maybe it is a portrait of Sidonie Françoise Barbier (1800-1825), girl of the mayor of Nantes. This delighting portrait of a girl getting ready to catch a small bird, is characteristic of Le Tellier's works from the beginning of the XIXth century. His touch evolved enormously throughout its career, passing as hatchings very marked in faces during 18Ith century, to a finer dotted line at the beginning of the 19th century. TECHNIQUE:
