Miniature by Jean-Daniel Welper exceptionally signed on the left : Welper f. 


The miniature depicts the portrait of Madame François-Philippe Brochier, née Charlotte Claudine Nattier (1730-1779), daughter of Jean-Marc Nattier (1685-1766).

Jean-Daniel Welper (1730-1789) was a painter to the king Louis XV andto  the Prince de Condé, master in drawing of Mesdames de France, daughters of the king. 

The miniatures signed by his hand are rare.

This beautifull one is preserved on its precious carnet de bal of the time, in galuchat and gold, including its delicate ivory leaves reperced and carved with birds and foliage.


CONDITION: Very good original condition
