Moritz Michael Daffinger is rightly considered the first Viennese painter. As Léo Schidlof pointed out, his works, following Thomas Lawrence’s visit to Vienna in 1819, gained in colour, brilliance and charm. The superb orange blue shades of the background place this work in this period.


CONDITION: Good condition, a restored hairline (by Bernd Pape) in the sky to the hair. (not visible to the eye)
