Miniature by Moritz Michael Daffinger (1790-1849), portrait of a young boy, miniature signed on the bottom right : Daffinger . Moritz Michael Daffinger is rightly considered the first Viennese painter. As Léo Schidlof pointed out, his works, following Thomas Lawrence’s visit to Vienna in 1819, gained in colour, brilliance and charm.
