In the engraving, a second satyr leaves the forest in the distance and the nymph points to the last link that holds her. In the miniature the second satyr disappears ey the second hand of the nymph firmly holds a branch.
the miniature is painted on a very thick ivory plate, typical of the late 17th/ early 18th century miniatures. It recalls the rare erotic works treated in color by Karl Gustav Klingstedt (1657-1734) as that showing a family of Satyrs, National Museum, Stockholm (see last picture).
